This is a nasty little plant. Not only does it have horrid spines, but it will confuse any Piñata that eats it.

Prickly Pear is a weed introduced in Trouble in Paradise. It’s a large spiny cactus, with a large strange fruit growing on top. Eating the fruit will make your piñatas confused, causing them to become non-residents. It is grown from the prickly pear seed.

Behavior

The prickly pear is very attractive to your piñatas, and they will do anything to try and get a taste. They will attack the plant, knowing down the flowerhead and the seeds. Eating the flower will cause your piñatas to become confused, and they will leave your garden, turning back to their black and white wild colors.

Piñatas effected by the prickly pear will need to recomplete their resident requirements before they will return to your garden. The prickly pear is an extremely dangerous plant because of this, and should be planted securely behind fencing if you need to plant it. Birdproof fencing is highly recommended to keep your piñatas safe.
