Piñata Island

Piñata Island is the primary setting of all Viva Piñata media. It is a tropical island shaped roughly like a quadruped (perhaps a llama, horse, or donkey) located in an ocean somewhere on Earth. Where specifically it is located is unknown.

It is the only place in the world that piñata live, both in the wild and in gardens. Piñatas are often sent out into the rest of the world by Piñata Central, where they join in on parties before being sent back and repaired to go back to their normal lives.

Description

The island is unlike anywhere else on earth, featuring a large variety of biomes despite it's apparent small size. You can go from freezing arctic conditions to a tropical jungle to a sweltering desert all without ever leaving the island. The only non-piñata residents are humans, with all other creatures being piñatas. Everything is patterned similarly to the piñatas themselves, from the grass beneath your feet to the largest oak trees. While the plant-life is not unique to the island, they still reflect the local environment and look nothing like their counterparts in other parts of the world.

Magic seems to permeate the island, with the inhabitants frequently using it in their day-to-day lives. Some residents are even able to defy the laws of nature, such as Storkos whom is capable of flight. Those who live on the island are always seen wearing some sort of mask, varying from a simple eye mask to elaborate costumes that reflect the piñatas they live with.
