Gatherling
Gatherling is a helper that can be hired from Arfur's Inn. She will wander around your garden, collecting and selling off anything left lying around, helping to keep your garden tidy.
In Trouble in Paradise, she can instead drop items off into the Garden Store, if you have one built in your garden.

Gameplay
Gatherling will work from 9am-4pm everyday. When she is in your garden, she will look for any items left lying around. Once she finds something to sell, she will place down her bowl and hover the item towards her, and sell it upon entering the bowl.
In Trouble in Paradise, she can be told what to sell and what to ignore by opening the menu, allowing you to tell her whether or not to gather seeds, flowerheads, fruits, vegetables, or produce.
Gatherling is generally not recommended for normal gameplay, as she will sell all items on the ground indiscriminately. While this was improved in Trouble in Paradise, this can still lead to important items (e.g. ones left on the ground to attract piñatas) being sold against the player's wishes. Additionally, the Gatherling makes less money selling items than can be made by selling the same items to Costolot manually. Her AI is also not particularly smart, and will frequently fail to notice sellable objects left lying around, instead complaining that there is no work for her to do. Often, she will complain about having no work the moment she enters the garden. All this leads to Gatherling being rather situational, though can still be helpful if you are struggling with a messy garden.
Mini-Games
Gatherling can participate in the mini-games added in Trouble in Paradise. As an opponent, her choice of piñata is randomized.
As a judge in The P Factor, Gatherling will prefer piñatas wearing a costume, a matching set of three accessories. This is opposite to Lottie, who prefers piñatas wearing no accessories.
Leafos Gossip
- “I’ve never met such calm, relaxed people as the Gatherlings. They seem to take it all in their stride.”
