Sparrowmints are a little brown bird piñata seen early in the game. With an appetite for Whirlms, this may be the first predator a new player encounters in the garden.

Sparrowmint is the only piñata whose evolution method was changed between Viva Piñata and Trouble in Paradise, most likely to take advantage of the newly added plants.
- A possible exception may be Horstachio into Zumbug, whose method was simplified in Pocket Paradise. Though its food item was unchanged, it no longer requires both its foods to evolve.
