Seedos

Seedos (formerly Sidos) is an avid fan and collector of seeds. He is obsessed with seeds, but is willing to part with some of his collection to those that are nice to him.

Seedos loves seeds. He doesn't just like them, he can't stand to be away from them. He polishes and looks after them, he sings to them at night, and he's collected lots of different types. He won't let just anyone have his seeds, so he might need some 'persuasion.'

Baby Sidos as seen in the Storybook

Sidos was the fourth and youngest child born to Jardiniero and Mother. With Mother having retired from sailing by the time he was born, Sidos would be the final piece to complete the family.

Sidos was a natural when it came to piñata raising, becoming an expert before he could talk. He would raise a Shellybean, quickly obtaining two and figuring out how to romance them. He would even teach the Shellybeans tricks. At the first opportunity, Sidos would eagerly volunteer his Shellybean family to be sent to a party. They were a smash hit, leading to an uptick in demand for the species.

One day, his parents would leave on a hunt for the legendary Dragonache. Sidos would be left in the care of his sister, Storkos. However, Storkos was also responsible for delivering eggs to piñatas around the island. Due to this, she would not be present when Ruffians attacked the garden.

The young Sidos would grab his family of Shellybeans and flee from the chaos into the swamp. There, his only family would be the Shellybeans, who would raise him. Due to this, Sidos grew an immense fondness for seeds, the preferred food of any Shellybean. This was to the point he would change his name to Seedos. Now, he wanders Piñata Island in search of new seeds to add to his collection, and perhaps gifting some to any gardeners who take the time to talk to him.

Gameplay

Seedos will begin visiting the garden at level 2 (level 3 in TIP), often appearing on the second day in the garden.

Seedos will visit the garden at any time of day, often inspecting plants. He can be interacted with by pressing A, and doing so will cause him to drop a seed. Seedos will often gift seeds that have not yet been unlocked from the shop, making him a great way to quickly unlock new plants. The player can continue to talk with him for more seeds, granting roughly 1-4 seeds per visit. Seedos may not drop as many seeds if spoken with too frequently. Watering Seedos with the watering can makes him laugh and dance around, and may cause him to drop additional seeds when spoken to.

Seedos will sometimes refuse to enter the garden, instead wandering around outside its borders and looking at the ground. During this time, he is looking for new seeds and cannot be interacted with.

The game will often encourage the player to hit Seedos with their shovel, however, this is not recommended. Hitting Seedos will make him drop a few seeds, but will also make him angry. Seedos can be hit up 6 times before he will burrow away. Seedos will stay away for about 4 minutes, before returning with a vengeance. He is be able to be interacted with in this state, and he will wander around your garden, planting about 5 weed seeds. When he is finished, he will laugh and leave again. The next time he returns, he can be spoken to as normal.

Mini-Games

Seedos in The P Factor

Like all other NPCs, Seedos can participate in the mini-games added in Trouble in Paradise, The Great Piñata Paperchase and The P Factor. As a competitor, Seedos will use a Parrybo.

As a judge in The P Factor, Seedos will prefer piñatas that have traveled a lot. This is the opposite to Fannie Franker, who prefers piñatas that haven't traveled very much.

Trivia

• Despite his connection with Shellybeans, Seedos uses a Parrybo when selected as a competitor in the TIP mini-games. This is a reference to Toco, a bird NPC that played a similar role to Seedos in early concepts for the game.
