Factory Challenge

Factory Challenges are requests issued by Langston for piñatas to be sent to parties, and they appear in all games in the series. Each challenge requires the player to send at least one piñata to Piñata Central, which forwards the piñata to a party and then returns it afterward. In return for this service, Piñata Central rewards the player with either sweets or chocolate coins. A piñata’s value also increases with each party it attends.

In Viva Piñata and Pocket Paradise, Factory Challenges are optional objectives that are periodically offered as the player progresses through the game. In Trouble in Paradise, the system was significantly overhauled: challenges are now presented as a fixed list of objectives with more complex and specific requirements.

Overview

Classic

Challenges are periodically issued by Langston via Alerts. Challenges usually ask for one or two of a specific piñata species, generally selected from one of the species currently in the garden. Challenges may also ask for any species of piñata rather than a specific one. If the player chooses to accept a challenge, they are provided with a crate from Piñata Central, which can be packed and sent as normal, with the caveat that only piñatas eligible for the challenge can be selected for packing.

Pocket Paradise

Challenges work in much the same way as the original game, being issued periodically by Langston with randomized requirements. Challenges can ask for up to 4 of a given species, and will always reward the player with romance sweets upon the submitted piñata(s)' return. Because romance sweets can not be purchased in Pocket Paradise and can satisfy romance requirements even if the species has not yet been romanced, challenges are very lucrative for a player looking to achieve 100% completion.

Trouble in Paradise

Challenges have been completely overhauled in this game, due to Piñata Central's revamped role. Challenges are no longer randomized and instead come from Langston's shop in the Village menu. Langston provides up to three challenges at a time, with each challenge corresponding to a specific location in the world and requiring a piñata meeting specific criteria (e.g. species, variant, accessories). Challenges in this game also include a short blurb contextualizing each given challenge and its location. Rather than placing a Piñata Central crate in the garden for each challenge, the Piñata Central crate is always available outside the garden, so the player need only select and package a piñata that satisfies the given challenge.

A new requirement for Trouble in Paradise is that all piñatas must be at maximum Candiosity before being submitted for a challenge.

Bring 'em Back Alive!	Sweetle	I've got a request from someone having a beach party. They want a sandy Piñata, so I'd suggest you go to the Desert area and trap a Sweetle. Follow the player guide, and we'll soon have this one done.
A Bouncing Baby Piñata	Bispotti - baby	There's going to be a baby shower, and the organizers would like to have a baby Piñata to celebrate. Any kind will do. Can you Romance two Piñatas? Look for the player guide to point you in the right direction.

	5	Cluckles	At the agricultural show, Juliette won the best in show prize for her rooster. It seems appropriate that she would want a Cluckles Piñata to celebrate.
Netherlands	1	Bispotti - blue variant	Karl loves blue. It's his favorite color. For his birthday, his Mum has ordered a Bispotti to keep his sister happy, but she'd like a blue one to keep Karl happy too. (Try feeding a bluebell seed to a Bispotti.)	Clogs
	2	Robean	The little Robean is such a cheerful little Piñata that it's the perfect party creature. The coffee shop is giving all their customers a swing at a Piñata as a promotion, and they've selected a Robean.
	3	Newtgat	Gabrielle is swimming 30 lengths for charity. Her Dad is so proud that he's organized a party for the minute she leaves the changing room. He can't wait to see her face when she sees a Newtgat hanging there.
	4	Lackatoad	The harvest is in, so the market gardeners are going to have a night celebrating. The head gardener has chosen a Lackatoad for the event.
	5	Crowla	Kris has just finished his new record. He thinks that this might be the one to make him a star. He's called over a friend or two and put in a request for a Crowla.
United Kingdom	1	Bunnycomb - orange variant	If you feed a Bunnycomb a pumpkin and it turns... Well, no time for that now! We need one of those really quickly for a 60th birthday party in Birmingham.	Yeoman's Helm
	2	Squazzil - wearing a Red Nose	Gordon is a bit of a joker, so Grandma McKinnie has ordered a Squazzil with a red nose on. Let's not keep Grandma waiting.
	3	Fudgehog - blue variant	Here's a new order from some parents who worry that their children are playing too many videogames. They've ordered a Fudgehog fed on a bluebell seed, so their children don't feel completely lost.
	4	Badgesicle	Garth isn't smooth. In fact, he's so far from it, his mates have asked us for a Badgesicle to help his birthday party match his appearance.
	5	Barkbark - green variant	How fast can you send up a Barkbark? O.K. - how fast can you send a green Barkbark? Grow a poison ivy plant, and then send it right away.
Spain	1	Candary - blue variant	Celia can sing, but she really hates yellow. Here we go - one BLUE Candary! For the little girl who just turned six and loves to sing.	Bullfighter's Hat
	2	Green Flutterscotch	Enrique can make the most beautiful, delicate jewellery in the city. He's gone out to sell the latest batch to the retailer, and his girlfriend has ordered a green Flutterscotch to surprise him when he gets back.
	3	Buzzenge - wearing Flamenco Shoes	At the end of this year's dance competition, the grand prize is going to be put into a Buzzenge wearing flamenco shoes. The winning couple will have to knock it out. What a finish!
	4	Ponocky - wearing a bonnet	The boys are all going out fishing, so the ladies of the family have ordered a Ponocky wearing a bonnet. They are going to have a really good time on their own!
	5	Moozipan - yellow variant	Since Carla was a baby, she loved banana milkshakes. Now she is 10 years old, and her family likes to remember the past. They've ordered a yellow Moozipan - it's perfect!

Completing all of Langston's Challenges will reward the player with a new Xbox 360 Gamerpic.

Trivia

• In the first game, Langston will always issue a challenge for any piñata 30 seconds after starting a new garden. This can be abused by repeatedly starting new gardens and mailing piñatas to them, and then sending them to parties, quickly increasing the piñata's value.
• Dragonache, Choclodocus, Chewnicorn and Flapyak do not have challenges associated with them and will need to be sent to parties separately to complete their computer records. The Black, Blue, Brown, Pink, Red, Yellow, and White Flutterscotches also must be sent separately.
• Challenge 3 from the United Kingdom appears to be a reference to the video game series, Sonic The Hedgehog.
• The first tutorial challenge's destination, Twycross, is the location of Rare's offices.
• While the description for "A Bouncing Baby Piñata" says any baby will do, the actual tutorial directs you to romance two Bispottis.
